Discrimination Against Rioters !

I have being watching the excessive coverage of the riots in England since it started and I have come to the conclusion that news coverage from 24/7 news channel’s like Sky News has helped to inflame the situation but also has helped to hide the pure hypocrisy of the Tory/Lib Government ?

I make this assessment as an Irishman with family in Belfast and Derry in the north of Ireland. Rioting in Belfast and Derry happens regularly with incidents like shooting of police officers, burning of cars, use of petrol bombs and so on but it is never giving any new coverage except for a 1 minute slot here and there supporting the use of water cannons and rubber bullets.

In England there has being a big debate on if the Met police should use water cannons and rubber bullets a dispersion tactic used all the time in Ireland , in England it has not being used because according to the home secretary Theresa May ”The way we police in Britain is not through use of water cannon,” she said. “The way we police in Britain is through consent of communities.” quite hypocritical when you take in mind that Theresa May considers part of Ireland as British and in that part of “Britain” she doesn’t think twice about using water cannons, a subject well explained by Tory MP Patrick Mercer who said “I find it strange that we are willing to use these sort of measures against the Irish yet when Englishmen step out of line and behave in this atrocious and appalling way, we are happy to mollycoddle them,”. I ask is it okay to discriminate against rioters because of their ethnic origin or does Theresa May now not recognize Part of Ireland as British.

People will say oh its because the north of Ireland has had a 30year civil war that it is okay to use such tactics but lets look at the facts, in the North of Ireland crime is much lower than England, in the north Of Ireland children are not running around murdering each other senselessly. The fact is apart from rioting, the north of Ireland is a much more stable and safer place than England, so why has it become the norm to say its okay to use rubber bullets and water cannons on Irish rioters because their a lot more dangerous even though that has being proven false when the facts are used.

We have never seen since the GFA and probably even longer , a riot in the north of Ireland were shops were burned to the ground, were shops were looted, were injured teens are robbed by thugs like in England over the past week but yet this is still not bad enough to use water cannons, if it was Irish rioters looting shops burning shops and so on i can assure you we would be well beyond the use of the water cannon by now, because the British army would have being called in to stop the Irish rioters but when the rioters are English this kind of rioting isn’t even enough to use the harmless water cannon. why ? Is this clear evidence of the British establishments long held view of superiority over the Irish or is it a reference to their view that they couldn’t care less about the north of Ireland and would love nothing better than to give it back to the Republic Of Ireland ?

Either way it is clear evidence of discrimination against rioters because of their national backround and place of residence. If double standards had being used then the rioters in England would have felt the use of water cannons and rubber bullets within hours of the riots starting.
